What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later requests. Similar technologies — local storage and session storage — do much the same thing, and this policy covers those too. They are used here for two reasons: to make the site work, and to count how it is used.

The rules we follow

Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent, as required by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003. Where a cookie also involves personal data, the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply as well; our privacy policy explains that side of it.

Categories in use

• Strictly necessary. These make the site function and are set without consent because the site cannot work without them. They remember that you have dismissed the cookie notice, hold short-lived technical values needed to serve a page correctly, and support basic protection against automated abuse.
• Measurement. Set by an internal analytics system. These count page views and outbound clicks and record coarse technical detail such as approximate country and device type. They tell us which pages are read and which are not, in aggregate. They do not follow you to other websites.
• Referral attribution. Set by a click-tracking service. These record that a visit arrived from a particular campaign and that an outbound link was followed, so a commercial arrangement can be attributed correctly. They hold a short technical identifier, not your name or contact details.

We do not use cookies to build an advertising profile, and we do not allow third parties to place advertising or social media trackers on this site.

How long they last

Session cookies are deleted when you close the browser. The persistent ones used here expire on their own: the notice-dismissal preference lasts until you clear your browser storage, and measurement and attribution identifiers expire within 90 days.

Third-party sites

When you follow a link from this site to a game, that site sets its own cookies under its own policy. We have no control over them and no visibility of them. Read the policy on the site you land on if you want to know what it stores.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can withdraw consent whenever you like by clearing the cookies and site data for this domain in your browser, which also resets the cookie notice so you can answer it again. Every current browser can block or delete cookies for a single site:

• Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies.
• Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
• Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
• Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies is possible but will mean the cookie notice reappears on every page. Blocking the other categories has no effect on how the site works for you.
